Tyler Perry is rebooting his ‘Why Did I Get Married’ franchise after teasing a third installment over the weekend.
The mogul teased the return of the popular franchise while responding to fans’ demands that he revisit the storylines of the couples he introduced to moviegoers in 2007 amid a series of viral posts from some of the film’s stars.
On Sunday (Oct. 20), TP shared a photo of his computer screen displaying what appeared to be the first page of a script for ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’
The film would be the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’ The franchise stars Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Perry, Richard T. Jones, Malik Yoba, and Michael Jai White.

The tease comes some of the cast went viral over the weekend, sharing a series of videos of themselves in character exciting fans.
Jones, who portrayed the character Mike, set things off on social media on Oct. 18 by sharing a video of himself seated on a plane, shaking his head in disbelief as he covered his mouth. T
“POV: I had to make Shelia drive again” he shared along with the post, which excited fans who are familiar with the film. The joke made light of the fact that Mike left his wife Sheila, who was portrayed by Scott, to drive to their friends’ snowy couple’s retreat alone in the second film.

Soon after, Jill, Tasha, and Michael joined in on the fun.
Noticeably absent from the running joke was Janet Jackson, who has been on the road for her “Together Again” tour while mourning the recent passing of her brother Tito Jackson, and Malk Yoba, whose character Gavin died in the second film.
