In an era of reboots, reunions and revivals, fans are more excited than ever to see some of their favorite films and shows of the past make triumphant returns to our screens and give us that good ol’ nostalgia we long for.

Fans are so enthusiastic that they have begun taking matters (and cameras) into their own hands to deliver what they feel would be some good takes on some of our epic 90’s sitcoms and films.

A new fan made trailer for an unofficial film version of the hit 90’s show ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘ has made its way online and fans aren’t quite sure how they feel about it.

‘Bel-Air,’ is a mock film created by Sun Squared Media, which re-imagines ‘Will’ (originally played by Will Smith) in 2019 in a much more gritty setting (less comedy), but still with the same premise as the original; being sent by his mother to live with his auntie and uncle after getting caught up in some drama in his hometown of Philly.

Although the four minute clip looks quite professional and could be legit, it has been confirmed that it is just a fan inspired visual and there is no feature film on the way. The clip comes ahead of ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s’ 30th anniversary next year. The hit NBC comedy, launched Will Smith’s acting career, and successfully ran from 1990-1996.

Meanwhile, for fans of the original who have been hoping for a reboot, it has been reported that there have been talks to bring back the show with a “new” fresh ‘Prince’ or ‘Princess.’

It was reported last year that the company who owns the rights to the ‘Fresh Prince’ brand have been filing trademarks for ‘Fresh Princess’ while Smith himself has also previously discussed the possibility of bringing the story to a new generation via an all new show or an animated cartoon.

Now THIS is what’s up! I had to post this hot piece by @thesketchlab. Never thought about FP in terms of animation.
