After years of strife and tension between Lil Kim and her former group mates, Junior M.A.F.I.A, the collective is reportedly set to reunite in honor of their dearly departed mentor.
Kim and former wing man/Junior Mafia front man, Lil Cease fell out over ten years ago when the latter testified against Kim in her infamous 2005 perjury trial which ultimately she resulted being sentenced to one year in prison and a $50,000 fine for perjury.
After being released from prison, Kim went on record to make it clear that her ties to Cease and members of JM were over following the betrayal and even referenced the drama in her track ‘Quiet’ from her 2005 album ‘The Naked Truth’ (get into it at the 2:05 mark below).
Meanwhile, Cease also went on record regarding why he testified against her and maintained that he wasn’t a “snitch” as the streets and Kim referenced.
“Me and Kim wasn’t on good terms for the moment, and she made it clear to the world that she didn’t want to have anything to do with me and my peoples. So she wasn’t trying to call us to her defense. Being that we was witnesses there, the U.S. government subpoenaed us. And there’s nothing you can do about that. When you’re subpoenaed, you either come or they take your ass to jail. It’s just that simple.”
The two have maintained mutual friends and appeared in shared spaces together but have not directly interacted since their separation. Well now, Kim has confirmed that she has something special planned in honor of The Notorious B.I.G. that will see them reconcile and reunite.
Kim visited ‘Hot 97‘ on Saturday (March 9) on the anniversary of Biggie’s murder to chat with Funk Flex and spilled some fresh tea. Get into it below.
Kim also dished on the origins of the group.
