Following her epic performance at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, Icon Missy Elliott visited her pal Angie Martinez at Power 105 to dish on being honored with the Video Vanguard Award, new music, and more.

Missy revealed that to the surprise of many, she was sick while performing on Sunday and had to go to the hospital just hours before her performance.

She also dished on not releasing an album for the past 14 years, and the pressure to live up to her past success and music. On the subject of being out of the spotlight, she opened up on her battle with Graves disease during that time and friends that helped her get through it.

On the new artists out she dished on who she likes out of the crop of newer artists including City Girls, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion and mentoring acts like Lizzo.
