If you didn’t know how big of a fan Teyana Taylor is of music legend/royalty Janet Jackson after recreating her infamous 1993 topless photo, which Teyana redid last year for Rolling Stone (shot by Lance Gross), now the G.O.O.D. Music first lady is showing more love to the icon.
During an interview with F– USE’s ‘Trending 10’ for the promotion of her album ‘VII” she dished on the project which took seven years to make (hence the VII title), and how excited she is just to have the project out and shares that she isn’t focused on sales or anything other than the art.
“I can’t wait for [my fans] to hear a full body of work,” she says. “Nothing else is on my mind–I don’t care about sales, I don’t care about anything, I’m just happy I get to give everyone a full body of work.”
When asked she is bringing that is different, Teyana reveals that although she can’t put a label on her album, it’s all in the sound which is reminiscent of the 90’s R&B sexy music which she says we haven’t really had since Janet (we totally agree). Peep the interview below.
