Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins has crafted some of the most iconic and memorable songs for over almost the past two decades. He has worked with everyone from Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, and just about any other A list artist that you can think of.

So in celebration of all of his work the producer has decided to compile a greatest hits record of all the songs he has written and produced, but the spin is that the songs will be performed with new artists and also feature some new original material.

If that concept hasn’t already grabbed your attention maybe it will when you hear some of the collaborations he has planned. Rodney revealed to Hits Daily Double that one of his biggest songs to date, Brandy & Monica‘s ‘The Boy Is Mine’ will get a re-worked treatment courtesy of pop darling Ariana Grande and her ‘Bang Bang’ co-star Jessie J

What else is coming up for you in 2015?
Next year is my 20-year anniversary and I’m doing a very special project. Some originals as well as reimagined hits. So for example, I’ll do the “The Boy Is Mine” with Ariana and Jesse J. Sam is doing “It’s Not Right It’s Okay” by Whitney Houston, which Sam told me was the song that made him want to sing. When I asked him if he’d be a part of this project he was like, “No one else can do that song but me!” Sam’s the truth. He has a great heart and he’s genuine. His music speaks for who he is. This is a project I’m really looking forward to.

Needless to say, the ladies have some very big Louboutin’s to fill as the song which was recorded almost 16 years ago, still is a timeless classic and has a record which will be extremely hard to rival.

The Grammy award winning song was the best-selling song of the year in the US, spending 13 weeks on top of the US Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 1998.

Internationally, the single also achieved a strong charting, peaking at number-one in Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand, while reaching the top five on mostly every other charts on which it appeared.

Good luck ladies!
