Cardi B brought her signature energy, humor, and chart-topping hits to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, making her highly anticipated debut on Monday, October 19.
The Grammy-winning rapper delivered an 18-minute performance featuring eight songs spanning her career, blending fan favorites with newer material from her sophomore album, AM I THE DRAMA?
Backed by a nine-piece band led by acclaimed musical director Adam Blackstone, Cardi offered fresh arrangements of some of her biggest records, incorporating live instrumentation, background vocals, and elements of rock, funk, and Latin music.
The performance opened with “Hello” before transitioning into “ErrTime.” Cardi then shifted to more personal material with “Man of Your Word” and “Be Careful,” showcasing a different side of her catalog.
The energy picked back up with “Up” and “AH HA” before she closed with two of her career-defining hits, “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It.”
Filmed at NPR’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., the performance reportedly attracted one of the largest in-office audiences in the series’ history, with some spectators unable to get inside.
Throughout the set, Cardi maintained her trademark humor and personality, interacting with the crowd and musicians. She also gave a nod to D.C.’s Go-Go culture with a reference to UCB’s “Sexy Lady.”
The performance arrives as Cardi continues promoting her musical comeback following the 2025 release of AM I THE DRAMA?, her long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy.
