Could Wendy Williams be a free woman soon? If her team has it their way, that could be the case.
In a major new development, a top neurologist has determined that the former daytime Queen does not have the medical condition that a judge has cited as justification for keeping her under a strict guardianship for more than three years.
The new findings reportedly contradict earlier medical tests in which, according to Wendy’s court-appointed guardian, she had tested positive for the condition.
The condition in question — frontotemporal dementia (FTD) — is known to be a degenerative disease that does not improve over time. However, sources close to Wendy say she has shown remarkable neurological progress and stability since becoming clean and sober three years ago, despite still being confined under the guardianship.
According to insiders, Wendy’s legal team plans to file new court documents within the next two weeks requesting a formal hearing to terminate the guardianship altogether. If the judge refuses to release her, powerhouse attorney Joe Tacopina is reportedly prepared to demand a jury trial and let jurors decide whether Wendy should finally be free.
The news comes weeks after Wendy was spotted out at for New York Fashion Week as we previously told you.
