The King of Pop continues to make history more than 15 years after his passing.
Michael Jackson’s iconic hit “Thriller” has roared back onto the Billboard Hot 100, jumping from No. 32 to No. 10 on the chart dated November 15.
This milestone makes Jackson the first artist ever to score a Top 10 hit in six different decades — the 1970s, ‘80s, ‘90s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s. He surpasses Andy Williams, who previously held the record with Top 10 hits across five decades.
Jackson first hit the Top 10 as a solo artist in 1971 with “Got to Be There” and has since earned 30 Top 10 hits, including 13 No. 1 singles. His last Top 10 appearance was in 2018 as a featured artist on Drake’s “Don’t Matter to Me.”
However, “Thriller” surged this Halloween 2025 season, amassing 14 million streams (up 57%), 9.3 million in radio airplay (up 124%), and 3,000 sales in the U.S. during the Oct. 31–Nov. 6 tracking week.
The timeless track has now become Jackson’s longest-charting Hot 100 hit at 26 weeks, edging out “Billie Jean” and “Beat It,” which each spent 25 weeks on the chart in 1983.
Even decades later, Michael Jackson’s reign on the charts—and in pop culture—remains unstoppable.
The news comes just days after the release of his highly-anticipated biopic trailer arrived and has also made history
