Social media is sounding off after Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler were notably snubbed in major categories at the Golden Globes for their film Sinners.
The movie came into the night with seven nominations and ultimately walked away with two wins, but many viewers felt the film deserved more. Ryan Coogler earned nods for Best Director and Best Screenplay, though he didn’t take home either award. MJB was also up for Best Actor in a Drama, but lost in a highly competitive category.
Sinners did, however, score wins for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score—keeping it from leaving the ceremony empty-handed.
Still, fans made it clear online: they expected to see both Jordan and Coogler walk away with more hardware.
