Pharrell Williams had a big GRAMMY week, and tonight’s big show capped it off with a major honor.
During the GRAMMYs, the music titan was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, an honor that celebrates artists whose influence stretches way beyond just music.
What made the moment even better is that this wasn’t a one-night thing. Just a few days earlier, Pharrell was also celebrated at a Black Promoters Collective event, where his legacy, longevity, and cultural influence were front and center.
From The Neptunes era to his solo hits, to producing for just about everyone in the game, Pharrell’s sound has shaped multiple generations of music. And the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award — named after Dr. Dre — feels especially fitting, given how both artists changed the game in their own ways.
He was presented the honor by Q-Tip, whom he thanked during his acceptance speech for being one of his greatest inspirations, along with Dre.
