Los Angeles basically became the center of the R&B universe this week, and somehow Brandy and Usher ended up right in the middle of it all!
What started as Kehlani’s huge L.A. tour stop turned into a full-blown celebration of R&B across generations — and just one night later, some of those same legends reunited again when Usher and Chris Brown’s massive R&B Tour rolled into SoFi Stadium.
KEHLANI BRINGS OUT BRANDY AND USHER
Kehlani hit the Intuit Dome in Inglewood on Thursday, September 24, for the Los Angeles stop of her Kehlani World Tour, and she had some major surprises waiting for the crowd.
First up was none other than Brandy, who joined Kehlani to perform their collaboration “I Need You” from Kehlani’s latest album. But Kehlani wasn’t about to bring out The Vocal Bible and not give the crowd a classic!
Brandy also delivered her 2002 fan favorite “Full Moon,” instantly turning the arena into one giant singalong.
Then came another R&B icon: Usher!
Usher joined Kehlani for their collaboration “Shoulda Never,” before giving the audience a little taste of his own catalog with “Superstar.”

24 HOURS LATER… BRANDY AND USHER REUNITE AGAIN!
On Friday, September 25, Usher went from being Kehlani’s surprise guest to headlining SoFi Stadium alongside Chris Brown as their blockbuster R&B Tour arrived in Los Angeles. The tour was scheduled for back-to-back SoFi shows on September 25 and 26.
And apparently Brandy said, “See y’all tomorrow,” because she popped up AGAIN!
After joining Kehlani the night before, Brandy made another surprise appearance during the Usher and Chris Brown show — officially making this one of the coolest R&B crossover weekends we’ve seen in a minute.
Three different generations of R&B stars sharing stages, celebrating each other’s music and reminding everybody how connected the genre really is.
THEN KANYE WEST WALKED OUT…
Because apparently Usher and Chris Brown decided that wasn’t enough.
The SoFi crowd got another massive shock when Kanye West — Ye — made a surprise appearance during the show.
Ye performed “All of the Lights,” with reports also pointing to performances of fan favorites including “Runaway,” “Flashing Lights” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
A FULL-CIRCLE WEEKEND FOR BRANDY & USHER
As great as all of the surprise guests were, one of our favorite parts of the weekend has to be the unexpected Brandy and Usher reunion tour within the tours.
Whew, L.A. got a weekend!
