NeNe Leakes may be back in the Bravo family, but don’t expect the OG to start campaigning for her peach anytime soon.
During a recent visit to The Big Tigger Morning Show, NeNe opened up about where she currently stands with The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Andy Cohen, and whether she sees herself returning to the franchise full-time.
Despite years of fans calling for her comeback, NeNe made it clear that she doesn’t really want to return to RHOA as a full-time Housewife. At this stage in her life, she appears more interested in stepping into the Housewives world without taking on the constant filming, drama and commitment that comes with holding a peach.
That doesn’t mean she’s done with Atlanta, though.
NeNe said she would be open to guest appearances and even suggested that she’d love to host a cast trip for the ladies — which, honestly, sounds like must-see TV.
WHERE DO NENE AND ANDY COHEN STAND?
Big Tigger also asked about her relationship with Andy Cohen, which became extremely strained following her 2020 departure from RHOA and the legal battle that followed.
According to NeNe, things are in a much better place today. While the two may not be back to being best friends, the tension appears to have cooled considerably, especially following her recent return to the Housewives universe.
Andy has also publicly praised NeNe’s impact on the franchise and acknowledged how important she is to the history of Real Housewives.
SHOULD SHAMEA LEAVE RHOA?
NeNe was also asked about Shamea Morton and whether she thinks Shamea should walk away from the show amid criticism and chatter surrounding her run.
NeNe’s answer was essentially no.
She believes Shamea should stick with it and allow viewers more time to see who she is instead of walking away after a difficult season or negative feedback.
Coming from NeNe — someone who knows firsthand how quickly Housewives fans can turn on a cast member and then fall back in love with them — the advice carries some weight.
NENE WANTS BACK IN — JUST ON HER TERMS
Ultimately, NeNe’s comments suggest that she isn’t closing the door on RHOA at all.
She just doesn’t necessarily want to return in the same full-time capacity she once held.
A guest appearance? She’s open.
Hosting a girls’ trip? Absolutely.
Holding a peach again? Not so much.
And after years away from the franchise, NeNe popping in, shaking the table and leaving before the drama gets too deep might actually be the perfect way to bring the OG back into the mix.
Would you rather see NeNe return full-time, appear as a recurring guest, or come back just to host a cast trip?
