The first trailer for Scary Movie 6 is now playing in theaters ahead of Scream 7, with a leaked version quickly making its way online and sparking major nostalgia.
After Marlon Wayans previously confirmed that the franchise is returning to its roots, he, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans — the original creators — are officially back.
Original stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall reprise their roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, joined by returning cast members Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams. New additions include Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner.
The trailer opens with a subway scene packed with familiar horror villains before landing on Scary Movie’s signature absurd humor — including a self-aware Ghostface moment that sets the tone.
This marks the franchise’s first film since 2013’s Scary Movie 5 and comes more than two decades after the original 2000 film launched one of the most successful parody franchises ever. With the Wayans back at the helm, Scary Movie 6 is positioned as a true revival rather than just another sequel.
On Thursday night (Feb. 26), Marlon took to social media to share a video of himself at a theater reacting to the trailer.
