Last night, the 57th NAACP Image Awards lit up Pasadena, delivering one of the most powerful and affirming celebrations of Black excellence we’ve seen all awards season. From emotional acceptance speeches to long-overdue honors, the night was about legacy, impact, and storytelling that truly reflects us.
Hosted by Deon Cole at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the ceremony recognized standout achievements across film, television, music, and digital media — and there were some clear standouts. The biggest winner of the night was Sinners, which dominated the film categories, while fan-favorite Abbott Elementary once again proved it’s still that show.
The night also paused to honor legends and change-makers, including Viola Davis, who received the Chairman’s Award, and Salt‑N‑Pepa, who were inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. And when it came time for Entertainer of the Year, the crowd made it clear — Michael B. Jordan is having a moment.
