Knowles questioned the comment and asked what work Tina had contributed. As the host began explaining her role in the group’s presentation and visual identity, the exchange became tense.
Shortly after, Knowles laughed, stood up, and ended the interview, saying they would “stop now” before walking off set. The clip quickly circulated online and sparked conversation among fans.
Following the viral moment, Knowles addressed the situation in a separate interview. He said the conversation had been taken out of context and explained that the interview was intended to focus on his upcoming Destiny’s Child tribute tour.
Knowles also clarified that he was not dismissing Tina Knowles’ contributions. He acknowledged that she played an important role in the group’s styling and overall image during the early years.
He added that he still respects Tina, noting that he typically refers to her as his “former wife” rather than his “ex-wife,” following their divorce after 31 years of marriage.
Knowles managed Destiny’s Child during their rise to success, while Tina Knowles was widely known for designing many of the group’s early stage outfits and helping shape their visual presentation.
