After weeks of speculation and stories surrounding Ray J’s health and online antics playing out, Sonja Norwood has stepped in.

Early Tuesday morning (March 3), Mrs. Norwood went live on Facebook to directly address growing concern — and speculation — surrounding Ray J’s recent health scares and hospitalization.

And according to Sonja, despite online criticism, this is no storyline, stunt, or exaggeration. It’s real.

During the emotional livestream, she confirmed that Ray J has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition that doctors have warned is life-threatening. She detailed how his recent hospitalization unfolded and shared that medical professionals have been very clear about the urgency of his situation.

Sonja also addressed online chatter suggesting Ray J may be faking or exaggerating his diagnosis. She firmly shut that down.

She emphasized that her son is not pretending and that the condition is serious. While acknowledging his recent online antics and emotional outbursts, she made it clear that beneath the headlines is a real health battle that requires rest, medication, and lifestyle changes.

According to Sonja, she has been pleading with Ray to slow down, stay offline, take his prescribed medications consistently, and follow doctors’ orders. She stressed that the disease is not something to play with and reiterated that the warnings from his care team have been direct.

It was a protective mom moment — but also an honest one.

Elsewhere in the live, Sonja shifted the tone to celebrate her daughter, Brandy, and her recent wins. She proudly spoke about the momentum surrounding The Boy Is Mine tour, teased the possibility of a second leg, and thanked fans for continuing to support Brandy’s legacy.

She even floated the idea of a potential joint album between Brandy and Ray J — something she says she would love to see happen.

Get into it below.

For now, prayers up for Ray J’s healing and continued success for Brandy as she keeps adding to her legacy.
