As we previously reported, Brandy was honored at the Recording Academy Honors, presented by the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, but she wasn’t the only star to shine last night in Hollywood.
Pharrell Williams, and Kirk Franklin were also honored at the event for their contributions to the industry and music, but another music titan was surprised with a long-overdue honor.
Eve revealed that she never received credit for her work on The Roots’ hit “You Got Me,” and never received a Grammy when they won. The group received their first-ever Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for the hit song featuring Erykah Badu, at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000. The song was featured on their 1999 album, Things Fall Apart.
Well, at the event on Thursday night, Eve was finally honored with her Grammy, presented to her over 25 years later.
