Nicki Minaj Postpones North American Tour With Future Due To Disappointing Ticket Sales & To “Reevaluate Elements of Production”+Future Drops Out of Tour Completely

Posted August 22, 2018

It has not been a good month for Nicki Minaj professionally and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

Despite having respectable first week sales of the album ‘Queen‘ the rapper has been on a week long tirade regarding the sales and blaming Travis Scott and others for her not claiming the no. 1 spot on Billboard.

Well now according to fresh reports, she might be thinking of someone else to blame as her upcoming tour has reportedly failed and is being postponed according to Livenation.

Nicki Minaj has canceled her previously announced North American tour with Future. A statement from Live Nation notes that Minaj “has decided to reevaluate elements of production on the ‘NickiHndrxx Tour’” following her surprise performance Monday at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. The cancellation follows unverified reports of low ticket sales.

The jaunt was set to launch September 21st in Baltimore, Maryland – less than two months after the release of Minaj’s long-awaited fourth LP, Queen. The North American leg will now kick off in May 2019, though no dates have been announced as of this writing; due to scheduling conflicts, Futurewill not participate.

The tour will now launch in February with a previously announced European run. Refunds for the canceled North American dates will be available at point of purchase, and Minaj will announce new on-sale dates soon.

Nicki took to social media to inform fans of the “push-back” and blamed it on the fact that she has not had time to rehearse and she wants to make sure that production is at the level she would like to bring it to her fans.

However, according to ‘Page Six‘ the real reason is due to low ticket sales.

A Live Nation source told us, “Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. These are big arenas with up to 20,000 capacities. Sales for opening night in Baltimore is 2,000 tickets. LA is 3,400, New Orleans 1,000, Denver 1,300, Chicago 3,900. Even her hometown Brooklyn is only 5,050.”

Sources even said the tour is in danger of being canceled.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Minaj went after Scott and Jenner on her Beats 1 show, “Queen Radio,” accusing them of manipulating the sales of his No. 1 album by using a well-known industry cheat of bundling free albums with cheap merchandise — like clothing and so-called tour passes — to bump up sales figures.

Best of luck to Nicki on securing new dates and ticket sales.
