Earlier today news broke that one of our faves, Toni Braxton was reportedly in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital, due to complications of Lupus. The report claimed that she had been at the hospital for about four days and that reported beau, Birdman was at her bedside.

Well now, reps for the singer have confirmed she was indeed hospitalized but that the claims of critical condition were not as serious as sources claimed. Via Huffington Post:

Toni Braxton was hospitalized in Atlanta due to complications related to her battle with lupus, TMZ reports. A rep for the singer confirmed to The Huffington Post that Braxton has since been released and is at home resting.

“She was not in serious condition, though Lupus is a serious disease and must be monitored at all times,” the rep said.

TMZ reported that Braxton was in the hospital for four days, noting it’s unclear whether she checked herself in or was transported by an ambulance. Braxton’s boyfriend, rapper Birdman, reportedly boarded a plane from Texas to Atlanta when he heard the news, according to TMZ.

Braxton first revealed that she had lupus in 2010, when she accepted the Women In Achievement Award from Lupus LA. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack its own tissue and organs. Approximately 1.5 million Americans have a form of the disease, according to the Lupus Foundation of America.

According to Billboard, Braxton’s spokeswoman Maureen O’Connor further confirmed that she was actually hospitalized in Los Angeles and not Atlanta, as some sources were reporting. She also says Braxton still plans to start rehearsals this week for her upcoming ‘Hits Tour,‘ which kicks off next week Oct. 8 in Oakland, CA at the Paramount Theatre as I told you HERE.

We’re glad to hear that she is back home and getting better! Rest up Toni!!
