The BET Honors may be airing tonight (March 14), but the network is already preparing for its next award and music show, Black Girls Rock. The annual event is set to air in a matter of weeks and we now know that one of music’s biggest ladies will be honored at the soiree.

According to reports, Rihanna will receive the ‘Rock Star Award’ at the annual event honoring black women in excellence, which will take place on April 1 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The show will be televised on April 5.

Gladys Knight, writer-producer Shonda Rhimes, “Walking Dead” star and playwright Danai Gurira, and actress Amandla Stenberg will also be honored during the star studded event.

Riri took to Twitter to thank BET for recognizing her for the award.
