Verzuz is officially back!
After an over 4-year hiatus, our fave pandemic-party series is returning after a lengthy legal battle between the creators, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, and social media platform Triller, which had acquired the platform the year prior
The last Verzuz battle was in December 2021 with a New Year’s Eve special, as fans awaited news on when the platform would return.
The show went on hiatus in 2022 while the lawsuit with Triller played out and was ultimately settled that same year.
By June 2024, Swizz and Timbaland reacquired Verzuz and began a partnership with Twitter (X), but it has been dormant ever since.
On Tuesday (October 7) Timb and Swizz announced the series would be back and will feature a battle between two powerhouse labels.
The pair took to their respective Instagram accounts to reveal a Cash Money Records vs. No Limit Records showdown.
