After a trial that lasted over seven weeks, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs received his official sentence on Friday.
Prosecutors asked Judge Arun Subramanian for a sentence of more than 11 years while the defense sought no more than 14 months.
Shortly before 5 pm, Diddy was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on Friday after being convicted of transporting women to participate in drug-fueled sex marathons.
The Hip Hop mogul faced a maximum of 20 years in prison. In July, a jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution related to his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and a victim who testified under the pseudonym “Jane.”
Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. But Combs was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, which could have landed him in prison for life.
The defense sought a sentence of no more than 14 months in prison, including the time Combs had already served since his September 2024 arrest. His lawyers argued that his “legacy has been destroyed” and that he had been punished enough.
In addition to the time sentenced, Diddy’s also required to pay a $500K fine — part of which will defray costs of imprisonment. The judge did not impose restitution.
According to TMZ, the judge said, “To Ms. Ventura and the other brave survivors that came forward, I want to say first: We heard you.”
