Just one day into the year, yesterday the tragic news that actor James Avery, most notably known for his role as Uncle Phil on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ passed on the late evening of December 31 due to complications after an open heart surgery. It is reported that the 68 year old actor passed at Glendale hospital in California. Avery is survived by his wife (who was also by his side), Barbara Avery, his mother, Florence Avery, and his stepson, Kevin Waters.
