We told you that Ciara‘s album ‘Jackie’ was on course to do some pretty low numbers, despite the fact that she is on tour and been on promo overdrive. The album was initially predicted to land within the top 10 with about 20-20k in sales but it appears that is not the case.
Final numbers are in and the set opens at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and moved 25,000 units in its first week (19,900 in sales). It marks Ciara’s lowest first-week sales of her decade-long career. Her previous set, 2013’s Ciara, opened at No. 2 with sales of 59,000.
During an interview with Philadelphia’s Power 99 RNGMS the singer discussed the low sales and says although she hoped for bigger sales, she is still proud of it and considers it her “best body of work”. She also reminded fans that she has been in the game for 13 years and is still standing, and also reiterated that the album campaign is just getting started and there is way more to come including a second leg of the tour.
This week the singer also premiered her new video for the heartfelt ballad and single ‘I Got You’. Check out the visual which features her personal home footage below.
