Reports that Cynthia Bailey and husband Peter Thomas are headed for splitsville, hit the internet on Friday (March 25) and went rampant. We’ve seen for ourselves on Real Housewives of Atlanta the many hardships they have faced in their marriage related to infidelity claims, finances, health issues and more over the years.
Adding fuel to the fire, the two also are currently residing in two separate homes, Cynthia in their Atlanta town home seen on the show and Peter in Charlotte, NC in his own place. On Tuesday, she told SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Amy Phillips that they definitely are not been in a good state.
“At the time of the finale and what was filmed, we were in a better place. I will say now that Peter and I are not in a great place,” she said. “We are not in a great place. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen with us right now, we’re still trying to figure it out. … We’re the only couple on the Real Housewives of Atlanta that was married on the Real Housewives of Atlanta; we’ve never been married outside of the show and I don’t think that has helped us a lot” she revealed.
Well on Saturday (March 26) Cynthia issued an official statement to US Weekly on the issue and continues to insinuate that things are not looking good for the couple who wed in 2011.
“I am spending time with my daughter, and taking some time for myself,” the reality star, 48, tells Us. “Whatever the future holds for my marriage, I have given over to God. I appreciate everyone’s kind words and prayers.”
A source close to Cynthia also told the outlet that things are on the way to divorce.
“It’s been a lot of problems over the years and it’s just gotten worse,” the source says. “You’ve seen it all play out on the show. She’s just over it. It’s not just the alleged cheating, it’s everything. There have been problems all along. He’s really trying to talk it out but it seems to be it for Cynthia. It’s not going to last.”
