After a long battle and years of mishaps, pushbacks, and delays R&B gem JoJo has finally won her suit against her label Blackground Records and been released from her contract. The Los Angeles Times also reports that she has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records, where she will be joining the likes of Janelle Monáe, Wiz Khalifa, and K. Michelle.
Her fans campaigned for her freedom from Blackground on Twitter, and last July, JoJo filed a lawsuit demanding to be released from the label and its imprint, Da Family Records. While on the label the singer previously released two albums including her 2004 self-titled debut and her 2006 sophomore effort The High Road
It is reported that Jojo, who is now 23 is in the studio working on her third album (first on Atlantic), the follow up to her 2012 mixtape Agape.
As big fans of Jojo we are ecstatic at this great news, and are looking forward to new material hopefully this year!
