Pharrell Williams has undeniably had an extraordinary year, and it looks like fresh news arriving this afternoon will set up for his new year to be equally as amazing.

The hitmaker and fashion icon has just inked a new deal with Columbia Records, home of his good pals Beyonce, T.I. and more. Pharrell was previously signed to Interscope Records, where he released his 2006 solo debut In My Mind.

Pharrell has been working on his new album which we told you about HERE which he will not be rapping on. He says now being over 30 his mindset on making his solo music has changed. Columbia Records is equally as excited about their future of Pharrell on their label.

“When we excitedly partnered with Pharrell in January of this year, we felt it was his time again,” said Columbia Records Chairman/CEO Rob Stringer. “Since then, ‘Blurred Lines’ and ‘Get Lucky’ have defined pop music in 2013, and now we are preparing to launch Pharrell as a global solo superstar in 2014. ‘Happy’ is just the beginning.”

To add to his exciting upcoming 2014 Pharrell also scored seven Grammy nominations including Record of the Year and Album of the Year for his production.
