NeNe Leakes shocked fans this past weekend when she took to the microphone at her popular hotspot, The Linnethia Lounge in Atlanta, and revealed to attendees that her husband Gregg Leakes was “transitioning” and “dying” at home following an ongoing battle with cancer.

Gregg had been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in 2018, and he was in remission for two years and seemed as though he was in the clear.

However, in June, Nene revealed Gregg was undergoing surgery to deal with the return of his cancer, and that he unexpectedly stayed in the hospital for several weeks. Then came her public announcement this past Sunday.

On Wednesday, the family’s publicist confirmed that Gregg has officially passed at the age of 66.

Gregg died “peacefully” in his home while surrounded by his family, publicist and longtime family friend Ernest Dukes confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.

“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes,” said Dukes.

“We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.”

Our condolences to the Leakes family.
