For months, fans of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland‘s hit ‘Verzuz‘ series have been calling for one between Ja Rule and 50 Cent, who have had beef for over almost two decades.
The idea of a battle was thrown out by fans earlier in the year and gained even more steam after former rivals Brandy and Monica, and Gucci Mane and Jeezy squared off for the series and brought in massive views respecitively.
While those counterparts were able to come together despite past tensions, Ja Rule says it’s highly unlikely that he and 50 will ever be able to do so.
Ja revealed that while he would like to do a Verzuz, he doesn’t believe 50 can hang with him as he has hits on top of hits, and delivers a full on show–and quite frankly, 50 wouldn’t want the smoke with him.
“Listen, man. Everybody don’t want the smoke. Everybody don’t want this smoke. I got heat.”
“Let me tell you something, when I do my shows, I can rock. I’m telling you, it’s like an hour of straight hit records. No filler. All crab meat, nigga. This ain’t the joints with the — you know what I’m saying? All meat in that muthafucking crab cake, nigga. It’s all meat, nigga.”
He also revealed that he would want to do it with someone he has mutual respect and love for, and that he and 50 would be much rather suited for a boxing match.
“Verzuz is supposed to be about the celebration of music, and the art and the artistry. So, I would want my Verzuz to be fun and filled with love in the room and shit…that sort of thing.”
“I’m too old to be in Verzuz beef and to be in with my team of niggas, all my team of niggas, we’re like, ‘Come on, man’. I’m 44, dog. Just get a boxing ring, and we get in there, and we do that. All this other funny nutty shit, we ain’t doing that, man.”
