They say the best and sweetest revenge is success, and things just got very sweet for Janet Jackson.
Her hit 1986 album ‘Control‘ has skyrocketed back to the top of the charts, 35 years after its initial arrival.
The album hit #1 on the Apple Top 40 U.S. Pop Album Chart days ago, propelled by the 35th anniversary of the album.
It has remained in the top ten of the charts since then and may have been boosed following fans coming out in support of the living legend following Justin Timberlake‘s Instagram apology to Janet ahead of the weekend.
Justin issued an apology to Janet for his role in their infamous 2004 Superbowl Halftime show fiasco, and the aftermath that ensued after.
While Janet has yet to acknowledge Justin or his apology, she did take to social media on Saturday to thank fans for their outpouring of support and for getting ‘Control’ back on the charts and making it now the 8th most downloaded album on Apple iTunes.
