Thursday night all eyes were on Lifetime for the first two parts of the highly anticipated ‘Surviving R. Kelly‘ multi-night documentary which featured compelling and jaw dropping commentary from friends, family, past colleagues of R.Kelly including his ex wife and mother of his children, Andrea Kelly.
Singer, John Legend also appears in the documentary and took some time on Thursday night as the series aired to speak out. According to John, viewers were reaching out commending him on his bravery to appear on the show when many of their industry counterparts would probably shy away from it.
John took to Twitter to make it very clear he had zero fear in doing it and also made it very clear how he felt about the legendary singer.
To everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn’t feel risky at all. I believe these women and don’t give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.

Also I’m happy to support the work of people like my friends at @ALongWalkHome who have been speaking out on behalf of the survivors for a long time.
