‘Empire‘ star Jussie Smollett was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack on Tuesday as we previously told you. The event is currently being investigated as a hate crime as due to nature of the attack and reportedly the FBI has also stepped in to provide their assistance in the matter in apprehending the two assailants.

Following the news making its rounds, friends, fans, supporters and colleagues of Jussie took to social media to rally around him, call out for immediate justice and declared their stance on racism, homophobia, and the impact that the MAGA “movement” played in the attack.

Get into just a few of the tweets and posts below.

.@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery.

This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.

This is why someone’s jokes about beating their gay son were never funny

— Ira (@ira) January 29, 2019

Let us call “a thing” a “thing”! A noose around the neck is for lynching. Bleach turns black to white. Whether or not it was MAGA, it was violent and racist and homophobic- – – PERIOD! Lift Jussie in prayer and find the racist homophobes -PERIOD!

— Iyanla Vanzant (@IyanlaVanzant) January 30, 2019

What happened today to @JussieSmollett must never be tolerated in this country. We must stand up and demand that we no longer give this hate safe harbor; that homophobia and racism have no place on our streets or in our hearts. We are with you, Jussie. https://t.co/o8ilPu68CM

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) January 30, 2019

The racist, homophobic attack on @JussieSmollett is an affront to our humanity. No one should be attacked for who they are or whom they love. I pray that Jussie has a speedy recovery & that justice is served. May we all commit to ending this hate once & for all.

I’ve been trying to figure out all day what to say about the racist, homophobic, violence against @JussieSmollett.

Not sure I can describe what I’m feeling in a neat & tidy tweet. His trauma deserves more.

I’m sad. Living together on the planet shouldn’t be this difficult.

Hate is strong but love must be stronger! Hate wages war and we must be prepared to do battle! We send love your way @jussiesmollett. We ask the creator for a speedy and healthy recovery not just for your physical but for your mental and spiritual as well. This could cause you to hate but please don’t. Hate clouds your judgement. Hate keeps the way unclear. Hate makes you just like them. We will love and with this love we will win by any means necessary! To love doesn’t mean this goes unpunished. It just means we are truly justified when the smoke clears! And we want all the smoke! We riding wit you bro!.. #TheGeneral
