You know the saying when one door closes another opens? well that sentiment is very true in the case of famed radio DJ/Host Angie Martinez, who just announced yesterday that after almost 25 years at New York’s Hot 97 radio station, ‘The Voice of New York’ would be leaving the station.
Now comes word that Angie will join Power 105, Hot 97’s long running rival station in NY, and she will also broadcast on Miami’s 103.5 The Beat.
There were mumblings yesterday that the shocking move might come but it was confirmed this morning by our faves over at ‘The Breakfast Club’ and by Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee who also posted the official press release to her Instagram.
Meanwhile it doesn’t appear to be any bad blood over at Hot 97, as radio personality/Ex program director and current star of VH1’s ‘This Is Hot 97’ Ebro Darden took to Twitter to congratulate Ang on her move.
