Nene Leakes has been laying low since announcing that she was leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta for their upcoming season but now it has been confirmed that she has landed her newest high profile gig.
E! has announced that Leakes will officially guest host the first episode of Fashion Police when the hit show returns Monday, Aug. 31. The show has been on hiatus following turmoil on the set and behind the scenes allegedly which prompted Kelly Osbourne to vacate her seat mid season of the show and for host Kathy Griffin to depart shortly after earlier this year.
Nene and Margaret Cho will be joining Melissa Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski as they attempt to revive the show in August and will be covering the fashion hits and misses from the MTV VMA’s.
We think its safe to assume that the show’s new format of alternating guest host serves as a “trial” to see how well she and the others do before they announce a permanent host. Apparently following the VMA special, Fashion Police will air five additional episodes surrounding some of the biggest fashion and pop culture events, including New York Fashion Week, the Emmys and the American Music Awards.
Following the premiere episode, each week’s two rotating celebrity guests will be revealed exclusively via social media. We will be watching to see how this goes.
Elsewhere in Leakes news, her former boss Andy Cohen is opening up on Nene’s departure from RHOA and also weighs in on RHOA casting and gives more scoop about Season 8. What did he have to say, get in below via Bravo.
