Nicki Minaj SLAMS VMA’s For Snubbing Her & Beyonce In Video of The Year Category, Taylor Swift Claps Back at Nicki

The 2015 MTV Video Music Award nominations arrived this morning (July 21) and despite being nominated in a few categories for the show that airs on August 30th, Nicki Minaj is livid about the fact that she was not nominated for the coveted Video of the Year for her hit single “Anaconda”.

As you may know, the visual became one of the most watched videos in Youtube history and had everyone talking about it for weeks after its premiere. Despite that Nicki was snubbed in the big category, and her joint video for ‘Feeling Myself’ with Beyonce also failed to get nominations. Beyonce herself though got several nominations including Video of the Year for her single “7/11”.

Nicki never one to bite her tongue, took to Twiiter to vent her frustrations with MTV and accused them and other outlets for taking from black culture specifically the work created by black women that influences pop culture and mainstream society but never rewarding them or recognizing them for that work.

She even alluded that despite not being nominated for the big award, she has plans to pull a Kanye West and going up to get it anyway.

Nicki’s comments regarding the “slim body” women must have struck a cord with her friend Taylor Swift who of course IS nominated in the VOTY category for her video “Bad Blood”. Taylor took to Twitter to clap back at Nicki’s tweets and Nicki responded.
