Performances: Tamar Braxton, Mariah Carey, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Aretha Franklin & Karen Clark Sheard Bring Down The House at ‘BET Honors 2014’

BET Honors taped in DC just a few weeks ago but aired on Monday night. Mariah Carey, Tamar Braxton, Jennifer Hudson, and Janelle Monáe all hit the stage, while this year’s honorees included Aretha Franklin, Berry Gordy, and Ice Cube.

Mariah Carey gave a classic performance atop a live piano as she debuted for the first time her single ‘You’re Mine (Eternal).

Tamar performed a medley of Diana Ross hits in tribute to Motown founder Berry Gordy. Janelle Monae also gave an electric performance as part of Gordy’s tribute when she did a Jackson 5 medley.

Jennifer Hudson and Karen Clark Sheard teamed up to give a soulful powerhouse performance to Aretha Franklin, who also took the stage as well to tribute Nelson Mandela.
