Looks like the ladies of R&B may be headed back to our screens. During a recent announcement, former Brownstone member and creator/executive producer Nicci Gilbert revealed that R&B Divas is officially returning — this time with a brand new cast reportedly centered around legendary radio personality Miss Jones.
The original series first premiered in 2012 and quickly became a fan favorite for giving viewers a raw, behind-the-scenes look at the lives, careers, sisterhoods, and struggles of women in the music industry navigating life beyond their biggest hits. The Atlanta version helped relaunch conversations around several beloved R&B voices including Faith Evans, Monifah, Syleena Johnson, Keke Wyatt, and Angie Stone.
The franchise later expanded with the short-lived but memorable R&B Divas: Los Angeles spinoff, which aired in 2013. That version brought together another powerhouse lineup, including Kelly Price, Dawn Robinson, Lil Mo, Michel’le, Claudette Ortiz, and Chante Moore. The LA edition delivered plenty of drama, emotional moments, and conversations surrounding fame, finances, relationships, and career comebacks. That series ran for three seasons from 2013 to 2015.
While full details about this new reboot are still under wraps, Nicci teased that the revived series will introduce a fresh cast, new stories, and updated conversations while still keeping the authenticity and culture that made the original franchise resonate with audiences in the first place. The reported involvement of Miss Jones has already sparked reactions online, especially from longtime fans eager to see how the outspoken media personality fits into the new era of the show.
No official network, premiere date, or complete cast list has been confirmed just yet, but the announcement alone has already stirred up nostalgia and excitement across social media. For fans of classic R&B, reality TV, and music culture, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
