Rap siren Diamond is one of hip hop’s most under the radar gems, still the former Crime Mob member remains a hot topic on the mouths of many. If you remember the rapper was originally pursued for the first season of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ and was set to sign on for the show, as she once dated fellow rapper Lil’ Scrappy. Things fell through for season 1 yet shows creator Mona Scott Young still took an interest in having Diamond for season 2, and allegedly began actually shooting scenes with then boyfriend Soulja Boy.
Yet once again, Diamond was not revealed as a cast member upon the roll out of season 2, and Scott addressed the issues with Diamond during a visit to Power 105 ‘The Breakfast Club’. Scott revealed:
“We tried working with Diamond. She was on, she was off. She was in, she was out and finally I said, I give up.”
Diamond has now moved on and is set to star in the upcoming Oxygen reality series ‘Sisterhood of Hip Hop’ and during an interview with the show’s network, Diamond revealed the reason she turned down ‘LHHATL’. Diamond confirmed that she had issues with the direction that she felt Mona was trying to take her storyline, by making her the bitter ex which would potentially make her unfavorable in the eyes of viewers.
I heard that you were initially going to do Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta with your ex Scrappy but decided to pull out. Why?
There’s a lot of reasons. The producer, the direction she was trying to go, I wasn’t into what she was. There’s more to me than just my relationship. You wanted to me relive something that was old, from my past. I wasn’t gonna come across as I’m still stuck on my past. I’m not gonna give light to something that was dead. I’m not gonna let you alter me in a light [and] everything that I’ve worked for, can be gone. Just like that.
Well Diamond may not have wanted to come off as the bitter ex, but according to singer Keyshia Cole she certainly plays the role of homewrecker very well. During a visit to who else but ‘The Breakfast Club’ this week, Keyshia talked about her strained marriage and revealed that Diamond was one of their problems as she slept with Keyshia’s husband!! If the interview didn’t confirm that she felt some kind of way, Angela Yee posted a photo of she and Diamond to Instagram and Keyshia threw more shade in the comment section, courtesy of Baller Alert..
