Fans of the Starz hit series ‘P-Valley’ have been anxiously awaiting the second season of the breakout smash series, and it looks like they won’t have to wait too much longer.
As fans know, the series is an adaptation of Katori Hall’s play, ‘P***y Valley,’ and follows several people who work at a strip club in the Mississippi Delta. It stars Nicco Annan, Elarica Johnson, Brandee Evans, Shannon Thornton, Parker Sawyers.
The show premiered back in July 2020 and was renewed for a second season just two weeks after its premiere. The season finale aired in September 2020, and fans have been waiting on pins and needles ever since. Season 2 was expected to return in 2021 but was delayed due to the pandemic.
Most recently, fans were worried that a recent legal issue with singer, Nicci Gilbert would delay the season even more. The former Brownstone singer slammed the series with a massive lawsuit, seeking “statutory damages” in addition to a jury trial.
Gilbert claims that she had pitched her 2011 musical stage play ‘Soul Kittens Cabaret’ to Lionsgate in 2014, long before ‘P-Valley’ was conceived. Nicci claimed that some of the characters on the show shared similarities to the characters in her play and that many of the storylines from the show were taken directly from her show. Despite all that, the show is still pressing forward!
The cast has been teasing about season 2 on social media for months, as well as the show’s official social media pages.
This week they have all shared more recent exciting behind-the-scenes footage to get fans more amped for the new season.
No word when fans can expect to see season 2, but we’re hoping for Summer 2022. Stay tuned!
