This week’s viral video is one that really pulled at my heartstrings and I just knew I had to post. Being raised in a family that was rooted in giving back to their community and raised by a grandmother who for many years of her life ran several homeless shelters, the subject of homelessness is one that always means a lot to me.
I came across a video of Youtube Personality MagicofRahat who had previously surprised a homeless man named Eric by purchasing him a fake lottery ticket. Ā Little did Eric know, Rahat had given $1000.00 to a store clerk and Ericās chances of winning were 100%. In case you missed that video and need back story check it out below.
Rahat, who has over three million Youtube subscribers, was hit with a firestorm of messagesĀ from his viewers after posting his “lottery” video asking how they could donate to Eric. As a result he set up a crowd funding project to help Eric get back on his feet. The project raised more than double its intended goal of $20,000.00.
Fast forward, In a tear jerking moment, Rahat pays a visit to Eric who is now living out of a motel with the money he “won”, and Eric reveals to Rahat that he was just offered a job, amazing news! but that news is nothing compared to the surprise Rahat had for him next.
