Wendy Williams without a doubt is now one of the busiest women in show business, from executive producing the upcoming Aaliyah movie for Lifetime, working on other shows under her production company, hosting the ‘R&B Divas’ reunion specials, gearing up for her second stand up comedy stint in Las Vegas all on top of her daily talk show host duties.
Now Wendy can add one more credit to her legendary and lengthy resume, award show host!! The media mogul is set to host the 2014 ‘Soul Train Awards’. Centric announced on Monday that the show is set to go down Nov. 7 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will “engage fans with unforgettable performances, iconic tributes and special appearances by today’s leading musicians.”
Although she has hosted the red carpet specials for the show previously this will be her very first time hosting a full award show. However Centric has no worries, calling her the “queen of daytime talk,” the network assured that this year’s show will be “one for the books.”
Wendy also addressed her excitement on her talk show on Monday:
“As a longtime lover of R&B and Hip Hop, I am beyond excited to host this year’s Soul Train Awards on Centric,” she said. “It is an honor to be a part of the biggest night in music and highlight the achievements of both legends and rising talent.”
The 2014 Soul Train Awards airs Nov. 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Centric and BET. Check out the official announcement below.
