Just a day after the announcement of the upcoming Whitney Houston and Aaliyah bio-pics now comes word of the release of ‘Get On Up’, a Tate Taylor-directed project detailing the turbulent life of funk music icon James Brown.
The film will star Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman, and comes courtesy of ‘Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger, who joins Brian Gazer to release the ‘Universal’ project eight years after Brown’s death. the film is scheduled for release on August 1, 2014.
