Janet Jackson received the Icon Award at the 2018 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards on Thursday night in Atlanta where she was also honored by several of her industry peers.

The Queen of Pop was presented with the award by longtime friend and collaborator, Missy Elliott who gave a touching speech and reflected on their over ten year friendship.

Janet also received a performance tribute by several artist she’s influenced such as Teyana Taylor, Normani, Jussie Smollett, H.E.R., Ciara and more who also celebrated her.
