It was announced just yesterday that Nick Cannon will be filling in for Wendy Williams for the first half of next week while the daytime diva continues her extended hiatus from ‘The Wendy Williams Show.’

Well according to unconfirmed reports from Radar Online, Wendy’s return is now scheduled but producers aren’t announcing it just yet. Not just that, when she does indeed return; don’t expect to hear an elaborate explanation.

“Staff are planning a big ‘welcome back’ show where Wendy will address her health problems, but she isn’t going to be saying anything else,” said the insider.

So if viewers are expecting a big tell-all from Williams, 54, they will be thoroughly disappointed.

“She will be working with PR people and producers and will stick to the press release script,” continued the source, adding that Williams will use a teleprompter and read only from the carefully-written script.

As Radar readers know, the TV star has been absent from her show since late December.

During one of her latest segments, she shocked viewers with her bizarre faces and slurred speech. After the show, she blamed her wild behavior on pain meds.

For weeks afterward, the network continued postponing Williams’ return date, with the host claiming she’d suffered a shoulder fracture and other ailments, and was simply recovering.

Now, the network is refusing to announce William’s official return date, as they fear she will push it back once more!

Not the approach we expected after such a lengthy and unplanned hiatus but welcome back Wendy.
