Just days ago we told you HERE that the Whitney Houston bio-pic had been green lit and was set for production courtesy of Lifetime network. Well now comes word that the sister and law and brother in law of Houston are completely unhappy about this and are planning to take legal action to halt the movie before it even starts.
According to TMZ, the late pop star’s family is reported not happy with the making of the movie, because they feel Whitney’s life story is too big for a small-screen project. Sources close to the family say that Whitney’s estate is planning its own movie for the big screen ala the 2009 documentary-concert film Michael Jackson‘s This is It.

“Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie. If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening,” said Pat Houston, the wife of Houston’s older brother Gary Houston.
After expressing displeasure over the film with the cable network who once housed the Houston family show ‘On Our Own’, Houston’s estate is now said to be considering a lawsuit against the network to block production.
Lifetime announced on May 22, that they are planning to release the biopic in 2015, helmed by award-winning actress Angela Bassett who will be making her directorial debut.
