Dawn Richard who now goes simply by D△wn is PETA’s newest spokesperson for Body By Vegan. She joins the likes of Kid Ink, RZA, TLC’s Chilli, Waka Flocka Flame, and Angela Simmons who all have been a part of the campaign.
The singer also opens up on her new vegan way of living revealing that the lifestyle change was inspired by her father, who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This caused her to do some research and better her health habits.
“My whole life has changed,” says Dawn, a self-described “avocado junkie.” “I get up earlier, I want to exercise, I feel better, my skin feels better—and these are things I didn’t even know [about vegan eating], coming from the south, coming from New Orleans.”
