Saturday night (Jan 17) is the premiere of the highly anticipated and highly scrutinized ‘Whitney’ biopic on Lifetime which centers around the headline making marriage of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
Ahead of its world premiere, the movie’s director Angela Bassett appeared on ‘Wendy’ on Wednesday to discuss the film and how her becoming the director came about. Angela also dished on why she selected Yaya DaCosta to play Whitney, the nasty twitter comments that Whitney’s daughter Bobby Kristina directed at her over not casting her to play her mother and even talks letting Whitney’s cousin Dionne Warwick see the movie in advance.

Following the world premiere of Whitney Saturday, January 17, Lifetime will be airing a special interview featuring Bobby Brown, who will discuss his relationship and marriage to the late singer.
“Bobby Brown: Remembering Whitney” will be hosted by Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson. The special is described by the network as “an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview” that will “cover the couple’s powerfully intense relationship while divulging Brown’s first-hand account of their marriage, from their greatest accomplishments and happiest moments to what really drove their romance together…and apart.”
