Ashanti stopped by ‘The Breakfast Club’ on Thursday (Dec. 1) to dish on her new music, her new children’s book ‘my Name Is A Story’, her new Holiday film ‘A New Diva Christmas Carol’ which will arrive on VH1 on December 14, and more.
As expected, the R&B princess touched on the drama with Irv Gotti and why she finally addressed it during her sitdown with Angie Martinez, and on Diddy’s ‘Gotta Move On (Remix)’ which she featured.
The singer revealed that she planned to continue to remain silent on the matter, but the disrespect from her former mentor and label head became too much.
She says that Diddy was one of the people who reached out to her during that time to express his disdain for the way that Gotti was disrespecting Ashanti in interviews and on his Murder Inc. documentary, and offered her the opportunity to clap back on his ‘Gotta Move On (Remix).’ She also teased that the final version fans heard was a much nicer version than the original which she says she really went in on Irv but decided to scrap it.
Elsewhere, she dished on her sister’s domestic abuse situation, her experience with a former producer offering sexual advances in exchange for her to receive the music they had recorded, and much more.
