Ashanti recently sat down with VladTV and discussed the rumors that she is in talks to join YMCMB. The singer who released her album ‘Braveheart’ last year independently, says that she has been in talks with Lil Wayne and Birdman but that the timing has to be right.
The possibility of her joining their roster seems quite risky at this time considering the recent revelations from Tyga that he hated being on the label and ultimately wanted out due to them holding them hostage. Later Wayne himself came out and revealed that he is no longer happy at the label that birthed his career and that he plans to be out soon but Birdman says Wayne isn’t going anywhere and that he will fight to ensure he goes nowhere.
As far as Ashanti she says the conversations have been had with both about joining Cash Money but it was rumored recently that Wayne is indeed getting his business in order to leave and plans to take Ashanti with him on his new venture/label.
“There was a lot of conversations, I spoke to Baby a lot and we were working on some stuff. I spoke to Wayne a lot; I’m speaking to Wayne now actually. I think that it’s really important to be very careful with your business, especially nowadays. Timing plays a lot into making moves and strategically just aligning everything, but yeah we had a lot of conversations.”
